Claire McWatt joins GIIA as Communications Manager to further grow our voice
This month, our team grows as we welcome Claire McWatt as the newest member of our Communications team
Claire is originally from Canada and has lived in the UK since 2019. She comes to us following five years in corporate communications at a local authority in London, where she led external communications on elections, transport, environment, waste management and climate resilience.
In Canada Claire studied Urban Studies at the University of Toronto and launched her career in municipal politics. Working at Toronto City Hall, she led policy advocacy on transport projects, developments, and civic engagement initiatives, later serving as Communications and Community Engagement Manager for veteran Councillor John Filion.
She also brings over a decade of winning political campaign experience at all three levels of Canadian government, as well as the United States.
