UK Infrastructure Bank Strategic Plan Discussion Paper

The establishment of the UK Infrastructure Bank has been welcomed by investors upon the assurance that the Bank will ‘crowd-in’ and not ‘crowd-out’ private capital. In order to successfully ‘crowd-in’ private capital, the bank must address market failures and take on risk that the private sector cannot.

In response to the UK Infrastructure Bank Strategic Plan Discussion Paper, GIIA highlights that the key measure of success will be whether the bank can deploy capital to new projects and provide additionality in the market, namely the Canadian Infrastructure Bank, whilst learning from examples of international best practice.
