Unlocking green infrastructure investment opportunities in Brazil

GIIA had the pleasure of hosting an infrastructure investment seminar in collaboration with the Embassy of Brazil in London and the Brazilian Chamber of Commerce in Great Britain, on 14 November.

The event brought together key voices to explore investment opportunities in green infrastructure in Brazil, spotlighting sustainable growth and government partnerships.

Opening with remarks from Felipe Gastão Bandeira de Mello, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Brazil, the first session followed with Marcus Cavalcanti, Special Secretary of the Investment Partnerships Program (PPI) in the Government of Brazil, offered insights into Brazil’s evolving landscape for green infrastructure, covering project opportunities, financing mechanisms, and regulatory conditions.

We then welcomed Eric Bjonerud, Managing Director and EMEA Origination for Macquarie Asset Management Green Investments (MAM) to share a private sector perspective, discussing Macquarie's experience with green infrastructure investments in Brazil, including challenges, successes, and the opportunity presented by the Brazilian market.

Thank you to all our speakers and attendees for an engaging morning, and special thanks to the Embassy of Brazil in London for making this event possible.
