Sullivan & Cromwell hosts GIIA and NGA for Infrastructure Week Rooftop Reception

May 22, 2026

As part of yet another busy Infrastructure Week in Washington D.C., GIIA was pleased to cohost a joint reception and panel on permitting reform alongside the National Governor’s Association (NGA). The evening was generously hosted by law firm and member Sullivan & Cromwell on the stunning rooftop of their Washington D.C. offices.

Guests took in spectacular views of the White House gardens, the Capitol, and the Washington Monument while connecting with infrastructure partners from across the breadth of the nation.

A clear picture of what’s working and why it matters to investors emerged from panel discussions on permitting reform. States moving the fastest on unblocking permitting barriers share a few things in common; dedicated infrastructure coordinators with cross-agency visibility, pre-application resources for developers, and accountability mechanisms that give investors confidence timelines will hold. These mechanisms provide certainty for investors at a state and local level, even when federal progress appears to have slowed.

Away from the hustle and bustle of Infrastructure Week, it was a pleasure to connect in a more informal setting and reflect on the many important conversations and issues covered throughout the week’s sessions.

Our huge thanks to the NGA, Sullivan & Cromwell, and all members and partners who joined us for the evening.
