Kindly hosted by Herbert Smith Freehills at their offices in London, we co-chaired a roundtable with Fingleton and the UK Regulators Network (UKRN), discussing the ways that independent regulators can support the UK Government's core mission to drive economic growth.

During the discussion, participants noted that the UK will need to successfully navigate the turbulent international economic environment, and find ways to replace and modernise much of its core infrastructure to create a sustainable and resilient economy.

There was notable agreement in the opportunities that simplifying regulators’ duties, ensuring greater consistency of how appeals work across sectors and sharpening up administrative processes can deliver more efficient decision-making.

Regulators and investors alike agreed that the UK has some important long-term strengths and by working together we can help solve common problems.
