Investor members are invited to join us for a briefing session with Clifford Chance on the Energy Charter Treaty
The Energy Charter Treaty (ECT) provides protections for energy investments in member countries with regard to political and legislative uncertainty.
Recent changes agreed to the ECT will downgrade some of these protections, making it easier for host countries to pursue their own agendas.
This session will cover how the ECT works and the protections it provides under current and prospective rules.
