Nautilus Energy develops, owns and operates hydro, thermal and wind power generation assets totaling 3,874 MW in capacity across Peru, Argentina, Chile, Bolivia, and the Dominican Republic. As of the end of 2019, 6,800 GWh (55% of the platform’s energy production) came from renewable resources. The proportion of low carbon energy generation was 92%.

Nautilus takes an active approach to reducing short- and long-term CO2 by adding renewable sources and low carbon intensity technologies:

  • In 2019, Nautilus started commercial operations on its 50 MW Agua Clara wind farm in the Dominican Republic. The US$103 million project comprises 25 wind turbines capable of producing an estimated 170 GWh per year, enough to power more than 250,000 local households. The 50 MW farm represents the first phase of an expected 200 MW wind complex that Nautilus plans to build.
  • In Peru, Nautilus has embarked on a project to upgrade and convert an open cycle natural gas plant to closed cycle. The US$175 million project will increase capacity from 193 MW to 318 MW and improve the plant’s efficiency from 37% to 57%. Upon completion, this will become the most efficient thermal plant in the Peruvian electrical system.

Nautilus Energy’s 2019 CO2 emissions stood at 0.20 tons of CO2/MWh, below the standards of the Paris Agreement (0.42 tons of CO2/MWh) and 2 Degrees for 2030 on Climate Change (0.28 tons of CO2/MWh)

OVER US$ 4 MM SOCIAL INVESTMENT focused on economic redevelopment and entrepreneurship, education, and culture, infrastructure, public health and safety, environmental stewardship and strategic contribution which benefited more than 894,000 individuals in 2019

OVER 2,000 COMMUNITY and other stakeholder engagement initiatives conducted

MORE THAN 200 INITIATIVES IMPLEMENTED Nautilus ensures long term success by contributing to the prosperity of the regions they operate. This is achieved by helping the communities through initiatives to improve their economic and social wellbeing
