To kick off our autumn US programme, we welcomed Leslie Biddle, Senior Advisor to the Undersecretary for Infrastructure at the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), against a spectacular backdrop of New York City seen from our member McKinsey & Company’s offices.
She spelt out to a large gathering of investors the huge package of grants and other incentives – worth many tens of billions of dollars – now available to support private investment in renewable energy generation, backed by ‘lift off reports’ with the latest government intelligence on access to various sectors.
Biddle joined a panel of expert members to talk through the implications and real life applications of the support which is available.
We then headed to Washington to host a panel discussion with the National Governors Association and more than 30 infrastructure state coordinators around the importance of strategic communications in planning and delivering new projects.
Participants explored how project managers must be able to explain the social and economic benefits that will flow from modernizing roads, bridges, tunnels and airports if a project is to succeed.

Elsewhere in Washington we brought members and stakeholders together for speeches and networking as part of a rooftop gathering kindly sponsored by our members Sullivan & Cromwell.
